Random Booster Vol. 1 (product code BX-14, released in Japan on September 9th, 2023) launched the format: you buy one box, you pull one complete bey from a fixed assortment, and the luck of the draw is the whole point. For a beginner or a gift, that is exactly the appeal.
Players who already know which blade they want tend to prefer a Select set instead. Random Booster ViperTail Select (BX-16, October 7th, 2023) is built around one headline blade, so you know the star part before you open the box while the surrounding parts still vary. If you are tuning a specific build rather than growing a collection, a Select set is the more targeted buy.
Numbered Vol. boosters vs Select boosters: two ways to pull
The range splits into two families, and the difference is what the box actually promises. A numbered volume randomizes the whole toupie. How the random pull actually works
Every box in a random booster holds one assembled bey, and the actual contents stay sealed until you open it, so you cannot tell from the outside which one you are getting, the same blind box idea used across the hobby. Within a set, one draw is usually positioned as the rare or prize bey while the rest fill out the assortment, and a full sealed carton bundles several boxes, which is how shops and group buys chase a complete run.
