XTAKARA TOMY BEYBLADE X

Beyblade X — Frequently asked questions

Quick, factual answers about the Beyblade X system, product codes, lines, types and versions.

What is Beyblade X?

Beyblade X is the fourth generation of Takara Tomy's Beyblade spinning-top franchise, launched in Japan in 2023. Its defining feature is the Xtreme Gear System: a toothed rail around the rim of the stadium that beys can ride to gain speed, enabling powerful Xtreme (Over) Finishes.

How does the Beyblade X system work?

Each Beyblade X bey is built from three swappable parts: a Blade (the main body and attack shape), a Ratchet (the height and contact-point layer, e.g. 3-60), and a Bit (the tip that controls movement, e.g. Flat). You launch the bey into a Beystadium with a winder or string launcher and battle for a Spin, Over, Burst or Xtreme Finish.

What do codes like "3-60F" mean?

The code describes the bey's parts. The Ratchet number (e.g. 3-60) gives the number of contact points and the height in millimetres, and the trailing letter(s) are the Bit (F = Flat, T = Taper, B = Ball, and so on). So "DranSword 3-60F" is the DranSword blade on a 3-60 ratchet with a Flat bit.

What's the difference between the Basic, Unique and Custom lines?

They are the three product lines of Beyblade X. Basic Line beys use product codes starting with BX and are the standard releases. Unique Line beys (UX codes) use unconventional shapes and gimmicks. Custom Line beys (CX codes) add a modular layer system — a Lock Chip, Main Blade and Assist Blade — for deeper customization.

What are the four bey types?

Attack (fast, aggressive, aims for knockouts), Defense (heavy, absorbs hits and holds the center), Stamina (spins the longest to outlast opponents), and Balance (a mix of all three). You can browse every bey by type on this site.

What's the difference between the Takara Tomy and Hasbro versions?

Takara Tomy makes the original Japanese releases, identified by BX/UX/CX product codes. Hasbro distributes Beyblade X in many Western markets and renames the beys (for example, DranSword becomes Sword Dran, and HellsScythe becomes Scythe Incendio) with its own product codes and sometimes different colours. The parts are compatible across both.

What's a Starter versus a Booster?

A Starter pack includes a bey plus a launcher, so it's everything you need to start playing. A Booster is the bey on its own (no launcher), meant to expand a collection you already have.

Where can I buy Beyblade X beys?

Each product page on this site links to Amazon. When an exact product listing is available we link straight to it; otherwise we link to an Amazon search for that specific bey. These are affiliate links — see our affiliate disclosure.
